The Incognito Traveller EP

The Incognito Traveller

The Incognito Traveller EP. The Incognito Traveller
File under: Down-tempo

When we think about traveling, we often think of vast geographies, train rails crisscrossing through countries or airplanes surfing the skies, but these ain't all possible kinds of travels, nor the most revealing. This release is an example of these other kind of journeys: a 30 minutes intimate narration of everyday life.

The Incognito Traveller EP achieves a solid down-tempo ambience by means of smooth and soothing jazz rhythms, dashing trumpet lines and a little bit of nostalgic piano and guitar.

This piece adds an organic touch to our net-label’s extensive and diverse catalog.

Release Date: August 2007

"Take a large dose of candlelight jazz, add a little down-tempo, a dash of minimalism and you just might come up with the tasty EP by the Incognito Traveller. This album is a delight of soft jazz and exotic rhythms. Muted trumpet colors most of the tracks as piano, guitar and percussion adds their own magic. “At The End of Mahoney Street” sounds like a overture to a French film noir. “A Couple Minutes With Eric” is a straight ahead and upbeat jazz number while “Chaleur” has an alluring vocal amongst its Latin beats. This is a great EP for those romantic moments and late night rendezvous.". Marvin @ Free Albums Galore

Netlabels Revuew

"Exquisite Downbeats | The Incognito Traveller stands in the tradition of Downbeat-producers like Kruder & Dorfmeister, St. Germain or Thievery Corporation. Jazzy rhyhtms, organic sounds and everywhere a touch of crackling vinyl samples. The production from Mexico is well-crafted and you have the feeling each song tells you a little story. Konfort did it again and released an extraordinary lax release. When you start playing the first song called “Petra 1:00 am” from The Incognito Traveller you glide into a deep melancholy mood. The melody played by the horns takes you carefully away and lifts you up. And how I like this jam-packed trumpet in “Marguerite” or “Valletta 1:27 am”. Or listen to the wonderful mexican journey “A Couple Minutes with Paco”. True trippin’ on an easy-going guitar and slight beats. It’s hard to find the most outstanding track because every song on “The Incognito Traveller EP” is a discovery of its own full of poetry. Just damn fine 30 minutes of incredible music, you won’t miss! Rewind! ". Brigitte Bijoux @ Phlow.de

"Here at hiddenplace music, i normally like to keep a nice variety of music between posts. however, in searching through the aforementioned No Copy Protection netlabel, i came across a release which was so fantastic i had to feature it. anyone else who has played with ACID or other loop-based recording software knows how easy it is to make bad loop-based music. but every so often, there comes an artist who knows how to spin the loops with just the right mix of flavours. jazz drums, latin percussion, muted trumpet, antique piano, and even an charming french language song make up The Incognito Traveller EP, providing some of the most listenable sample-based music i have heard in a while. prepare to be whisked away into the world of smoky cafés and lazy cobblestone streets, tinged with the mystery and intrigue of a classic spy movie.". Hiddenplace Music

"mooth tracks complete with piano, trumpet and guitar. The perfect soundtrack for those nights you can’t sleep. Looking for good dub, hip hop and even jazzy releases... it is quite difficult discovering such gems. Crate digging has become mp3 digging it seems. . . ". Not So Relevant

Tobi Tubsucht (Electronic-Culture.org)

"Seven tracks that blend together like a fine seven course meal, serving up a smooth, well orchestrated, modern jazz electronic experience... Enjoy.". Biotic (Black Sweater, White Cat, WBCR-LP, 97.7 fm Massachussetts)
